Toughy was considered by
both Roy and Rust Largent to be the best bull as yet produced here at Point of
Rocks.
With a total of over
206 progeny, Toughy certainly did his job well. 162 of those
calves are registered with the AHA.
Toughy is credited with
bringing quality and conformation to the Frame Score 000 Miniature Herefords.
His own conformation was extremely well balanced from his shoulders to hind
quarters. Perhaps the most unique conformation feature he possesses is a
well-proportioned head which was slightly dished, giving him a more refined and
well-bred but still masculine appearance. His progeny are remarkably
uniform and consistent in their conformation and structure. Each one
possesses his quality traits.
In any pasture here at Point of Rocks, the Toughy babies can be immediately
identified simply by their appearance and conformation. |
