For proven productivity and quality.
The purchase of a bred cow is probably the most sure way
to begin breeding Miniature Herefords. A cow that has raised two
or more calves will seldom
have difficulty with calving, particularly
if bred to a bull
with a smaller Frame Score than her own. This is often
the case with our animals since we are continually breeding
for smaller size.
By purchasing a cow three years of age or older,
there are very few unknowns. They breed well,
generally have little
difficulty calving and rebreeding, and you know already what the Mature
Frame Score
will be. You will also know she is capable of weaning a healthy calf. |
